Work City - Ollech & Tol Design

As part of the effort to raise supply of shared offices in the city, The Jerusalem development authority approached Ollech+Tol to renovate a building in the capital’s Cinema city complex, giving it new life as a shared office complex.

In developing the design, emphasis was placed on the intersection between public, semipublic and private spaces to fulfil the needs of different user types, from freelancers to established companies. Public meeting rooms are present throughout the different floors, creating a flexible and open floor plan, inviting random meetings between the different users to create a connected network between entrepreneurs at different staged of their endeavors. The interiors were gutted to its concrete foundations, using black metal, glass, shades of wood, bright colors and the original wall paintings of the cinema  complex to create a design language that is at once elegant and playful.

The program of the complex

The program of the building incorporates a public lobby opened to the public with free wifi and mobile workstations, a visitor center, a multi-use auditorium, open spaces and different sized offices and work pods.
